The news report reporting his arrest mentions the following, falsely referring to “violent” plans, as has become the norm in many countries where authorities attempt to discredit the work of Hizb ut-Tahrir:

A man was arraigned before Nairobi Milimani chief magistrate Daniel Ogembo on charges of radicalization. Mureithi Nderitu alias Arkanudin Yasin was accused of promoting establishment of an Islamic Caliphate (Khalif).

The Accused was alleged to be promoting and facilitating the establishment of a violence based ideology to advance religious change. He was said to have called on muslim faithful to rebel against what he called the infidel Kenyan government’s intention to build a prison for extremists claiming that muslim youth would be targeted. The defendant pleaded not guilty and was released on a bond of 2 million or a cash bail of 500,000. The case would be heard on 5th May 2016.
