Pakistan Embassy unwilling to listen to criticism about American War in Pakistan

In the Name of Allah, The Gracious, The Merciful

Sydney, Australia, 27th May 2009 - The Pakistan High Commission in Canberra refused to meet with a delegation of Hizb ut-Tahrir Australia from Sydney yesterday afternoon. The delegation travelled from Sydney with a letter about the current hostilities in Pakistan. However both the Ambassador and the Deputy Ambassador refused to afford even a five minute meeting wherein Hizb ut-Tahrir Australia could deliver its message. The letter which was to be delivered is attached.

Uthman Badar, media representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir Australia, says in this regard,

"It is unfortunate that the embassy clerical staff had to offer mutually contradictory excuses to cover for the simple fact that the Ambassador is unwilling to listen to criticism about the policies of his boss, Asif Ali Zardari. It is also unfortunate that government officials of Pakistan are always willing to bend over backwards to have meetings with American and British officials, but unwilling to meet and face up to the Muslim people they claim to be governing. Worse still, the hypocritical champions of 'representative government' in the West remain as allies of such governments."

"Notwithstanding this autocratic approach by those who are quite happy to use the Muslims in the Pakistan Army to fight the Muslims of Swat and Buner, our campaign against this American war will continue, by the leave of Allah. The nationwide campaign in Pakistan will continue. The grassroots activism all over the Muslim world and in the West will continue. We will continue to expose the reality and stand up for what is right."

Ends.
