The Islamic Solution to the Ummah's Problems

ProblemsHizb ut-Tahrir Australia held its first public lecture in Melbourne on Sunday, 22 February '09. The lecture was titled "The Islamic Solution to the Ummah's Problems" and delivered by Br. Wassim Doureihi.

In the lecture, Br. Wassim contrasted the Ummah's glorious past with the dire situation we find ourselves in today and pointed out how the Ummah has not been able to solve any of her problems comprehensively in the last 100 years. He then explained that it is only by resuming the Islamic way of life through the re-establishment of the Khilafah that the Muslim Ummah would be able to solve her problems in a comprehensive manner.
 
There were about 80 people in attendance and the lecture was followed by a Q&A session. The audience demonstrated keen interest in the topic by participating actively in the Q&A, asking questions and sharing their opinions. The questions were answered by Br. Maruf, Br. Wassim and Sheikh Abu Anas.
 
The lecture marked the launch of Hizb ut Tahrir Australia's public activities in Melbourne. Insha Allaah it will be followed by further events to engage the Muslim community in Melbourne in the Da'wah to re-establish the Khilafah.
