Photos & Videos: Australia's Anti-Terror Legislation & Future Direction
Local Da'wah - Our Events
public forumSince its introduction in 2001, the anti-terror legislation in Australia has been as controversial as it has been draconian, particularly so for the muslim community which has experinced the full brunt of these oppressive laws.

Since 2002 we have witnessed Muslim homes raided, our youth arrested, much hyped media sensationalism, and a great deal of political posturing from both sides of parliament.

Australia's anti-terror legislation, which was quite draconian from the onset, has already undergone a number of amandments. Most recently, and in the backdrop of the recent arrests in Melbourne, the Rudd Goverment has proposed further amandments to further strengthen the legislation.
These developments have enormous adverse implications for Asutralia in general and the Muslim community in particular, both in the immediate and long-terms. It is vital for Muslims to discuss these issues and make their views known for the public record. It is imperative that we are active participants in the public debate rather than mere spectators. This is all the more important in Ramadhan that has historically been a month of action and struggle for the Muslims, not inaction and rest.

Join us in this critically important public forum where this topic will be addressed in detail, and importantly, where everyone will be given the opportunity to express their views. So come along to be informed about this important matter and to tell us what you think.

Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
