The Australian Government’s latest White Paper on Counter-Terrorism was released on Tuesday 23rd February 2010. It highlights that the threat of terrorism has become a ‘permanent and persistent’ feature of Australia’s security environment. It notes that on top of the previous threat from the ‘global violent jihadist movement’, Australia now also faces an increased threat from those born or raised in Australia and influenced by the ‘violent jihadist’ message. The release of the White Paper followed the unjust sentencing of five Muslims on terrorism-related charges in Sydney the week before.

| In the Name of Allah, The Gracious, The Merciful From the time Islam was revealed, the kuffar have waged an unrelenting struggle against Islam and the Muslims. Despite this struggle, Muslims reined victorious for thirteen centuries with the exception of a few battles during the Crusade and Tatar invasions. The ideological might of the Khilafah and unyielding spirit of Iman, coupled with the sacrifice of the Muslims continuously proved overwhelming for the kuffar. However on the 28th of Rajab 1342 AH, corresponding to the 3rd of March 1924, the Western world lead by England at the time - finally achieved what they had long desired and for which they had exerted enormous effort: the abolition of the Islamic Khilafah and the separation of Deen from state, and Islam from politics. Consequently, the West spread their control over the Muslims and their lands. This calamity was made successful through the ardent support of Western agents from both the Arabs and Turks where the traitor Mustafa Kamal was at their head. |

The Muslim community is once again the target of a disingenuous propaganda campaign filled with little style and even less substance. At a time when self reflection and sincere intellectual engagement by the western political establishments could have weaved the path towards social cohesion, sections of the media and political apparatus chose to intensify the maligning of the entire Muslim community. Amongst others, Hizb ut-Tahrir is again a target in these latest events. |

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful The most recent provocations emanating from Europe are but one in a long line of hostilities directed at Islam and the Muslims. The West's campaign against Islam did not commence with the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq, nor the production of Geert Wilder's polemic 'Fitna', nor the publication of the blasphemous cartoons, nor the establishment of the 'Stop the Islamisation of Europe' coalition, nor the banning of the hijab, nor the expulsion of Muslims, nor the secret rendition of Muslim nationals, nor the provocations of the Pope, nor the adoption of forced assimilationist policies, nor the propaganda spurting from the mouths of Presidents, Prime Ministers and politicians. On the contrary, George W Bush, the so called leader of the 'free world', has not shied away from reminding the world about the historical nature of this struggle when he makes repeated references to the 'crusades'. |
