Like other currencies, the Dollar, the Pound and the Franc, originally, the Rupee was backed by real tangible wealth in the form of a precious metal. In the case of the Dollar, it was gold, in the case of the Rupee it was silver. This system stabilized the value of the monetary unit both internally within the country and externally in international trade. The evidence for this was that the standard prices of gold in 1910 were almost the same level they were in 1890. Today, there is sufficient gold and silver in the world to support the actual economy, transactions such as buying and selling food, clothing, shelter, luxuries, manufacturing machinery and technology and so on. However, due to capitalist practices, the demand for the creation of money outstripped the supply of gold and silver. The states abandoned the precious metal standard, so that currency became backed only by the authority over the state, allowing more and more notes to be printed, without being backed fully by gold and silver, so the money became worth less, if not almost worthless. Despite the false reassuring claims of the government to the contrary, the Rupee is collapsing constantly, which is leading to huge increases in prices. Yet, the government continues to print more and more money unheeding of the dire consequences, busily digging a grave for the lifeblood of the economy, its currency.

Hizb ut-Tahrir Wilayah Pakistan has issued a Publicized Policy Position (PPP) regarding the current troubles in Baluchistan, marked by abductions, torture and killings. These troubles are particularly tragic when one considers that Baluchistan is a crown for the Islamic Ummah. Its people embraced Islam such that the entire province was under the Khilafah Rashidah. Its people are staunch in their Islam and fiercely resisted the British colonialist invasion. They are a noble and respected people who love Islam until today.

I, Saad Jagranvi, a 39 year old father of seven, was abducted from near my family home on Monday, 26 November 2012. Military intelligence assisted by police ambushed me, surrounding my car with their vehicles, blockading me from all directions. I was then transferred with instructions from traitors within the military that my whereabouts are to be hidden from all, to the extent that even the cameras of my cell were covered! It is as if Kayani, Zardari and their handful of traitors would hope to hide their crimes from Allah (swt), when even the smallest of them have been recorded for punishment by the Lord of the World (swt).

Hizb ut-Tahrir Wilayah Pakistan held country-wide demonstrations against the abduction of Saad Jigranvi, a member of Hizb ut-Tahrir and the head of its central contact committee. Protesters carried banners and placards declaring, "State's abduction of member of Hizb ut-Tahrir Saad Jigranvi can not delay the establishment of Khilafah" and "Traitors in political and military leadership are persecuting sincere callers of Khilafah with state terrorism on American instructions." These demonstrators condemned the abduction of Saad Jegranvi, whilst demanding his immediate release.

On 26 November 2012, Kayani's thugs seized Saad Jegranvi, member of Hizb ut-Tahrir and head of the Central Contact Committee, shortly before sunset. A father of six children, Saad called his widowed elderly mother to confirm that he had been taken by agency thugs. Saad Jegranvi is a prominent influential within Lahore from a highly renowned and respected family, the Jegranvis.

To whom have Kayani and his thugs opened the doors of this region?! For whom do they send our sons in the armed forces to protect? The former Deputy Commander of the 82nd Airborne Division in Afghanistan, Brigadier General Jeffrey Sinclair, faces court martial for a series of violations of the honor of female officers. Also General David Petraeus recently resigned as CIA Director over having committed adultery; he previously supervised operations in Afghanistan and Iraq whilst he served in the US military's CENTCOM. And General John Allen, the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan, is under scrutiny for similar conduct. These are the top officials of the American army that have been deployed in our region, with the full support of our traitor rulers, who grant them supply lines and send our troops to fight their war in the tribal regions. These men have shown no respect for the women who are fighting in their own armed forces, for them: honor and protection of the weak are words bearing no weight.

Protesters carried banners and placards declaring, "Rulers of Russia! Stalinist regime! Arrests and Torture Can Never Stop the Establishment of the Khilafah" and "O Putin! Khilafah is Coming, Your Crimes will Not be Without Reply"

Today in Peshawar's Hayataabad Phase 3 Khatak Market, member of Hizb ut-Tahrir and respected medical doctor, Dr. Zulfiqar, was abducted by General Kayani's thugs in the presence of dozens of people, on his way home after picking up his children from a nearby school. Even though General Kayani appealed to the entire nation that no-one should be considered a criminal until his crime is proven, the Shabab of Hizb ut-Tahrir are being abducted in front of their innocent children, as if they are fugitives that have broken out of jail!

Hizb ut-Tahrir Wilayah Pakistan organized countrywide protests against the abduction of its spokesman, Naveed Butt and his non recovery even after the lapse of six months. These protests were held in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. Protesters held banners and placards declaring "The abduction of Hizb ut-Tahrir's Spokesman Naveed Butt will never stop the establishment of Khilafah" and "Naveed Butt held in abduction for six months for raising his voice against the American Raj."

After raiding Hizb ut-Tahrir's darses in Islamabad and Lahore and arresting over forty activists, government agencies continue targeting Hizb ut-Tahrir throughout the country. Two weeks ago, agencies kidnapped Hizb ut-Tahrir member Habibullah in front of his family from his home in Karachi. His whereabouts remain unknown. Those thugs took his mobiles and computer with them, and according to sources, Habibullah is locked in a secret torture cell in Malir Cantt. On Friday, government agencies arrested Hizb ut-Tahrir's member Professor Irfan from Peshawar and registered a terrorism case against him. The Anti-Terrorism judge has given him into police custody for two days physical remand.
