In Jakarta – The obligatory work towards establishing Shariah and the Khilafah is being continued by Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia and has received a warm response from the public. The Islamic Shariah is the only solution for all the crises that face the Muslim countries today.

“The root of the problems that the Muslims are facing is the non implementation of the comprehensive Islamic Shariah in our life and to solve it needs a collective work”, said Ustadz Rokhmat S. Labib, the leader of the Jakarta branch - Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia, in the workshop at North Jakarta, Sunday 17th of May 2009.

The support for Shariah and the Khilafah has grown together with the growth of the Islamic Dawah movements in Indonesia.

 “The existence of Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) gives its own colour in the struggle to establish the Khilafah, but HTI needs to build a synergy and communication to assimilate the vision and mission even though there are different perceptions regarding the Khilafah from other movements”, sadi Ustadz Syamsudin, the leader of Muhammadiyah – North Jakarta.

A Shariah and Khilafah discourse was the main aim of HTI in a variety of events including a workshop for the Ulamas and Ustadzs who are concerned about the Shariah on Sunday 12 Jumadil Awwal / 17th of May 2009 held in North Jakarta. The workshop’s theme was “The collective struggle of Ulamas and Ustadzs for a more blessed Indonesia by establishing the Shariah and the Khilafah”.

The workshop held by the HTI North Jakarta branch was attended by tens of public figures from the Ulamas and Ustadzs. The aim is to continue the positive interaction with the Ulamas and Ustadzs at such events in order to build support within the public for the establishment of Shariah and the Khilafah.
