HT Indonesia March to "Change the Regime and the Corrupt System with Shariah and Khilafah"
Global Da'wah - Overseas Events
HTIJakarta-Around 10,000 people from Hizb ut-Tahrir Indonesia conducted a peaceful mass rally to express their stance on the 6.7 billion scandal of Century Bank, on Sunday (6/12) morning in Jakarta. Unlike other mass organizations which simply demanded Boediono, the Vice President, and Sri Mulyani, the finance minister to resign or be brought to court, HTI's insistence and demands are different. Not only do they want to clean Indonesia from corruption, but those at the rally, waving the white and black flags saying La illaha ilallah Muhammadar rasulullah, also demanded that the current regime and the corrupt system be changed and replaced with the Islamic system and pious leaders and bureaucrats.

"If you really want to eradicate corruption from Indonesia, not only must this country get rid of the corrupt bureaucrats, but it should be cleaned from the secular system," said HTI spokesman Muhammad Ismail Yusanto before the sweating but energetic masses who were always energetic while chanting "Allahu Akbar (God is Great)".

It is because, Ismail explains, corruption is only the fruit of the capitalist system which is better known as neo-liberal or "neolib". This corrupt system is deeply rooted in secularism and justifies any means to achieve goals so that it encourages people to have materialistic views.

All matters are calculated and put in the materialistic context, profits and losses. So it is no wonder that the positions, authority, permits, licenses, legal decisions, policies, regulations and legislation are also based on this context.

The Islamic system, which is the correct system, will replace the corrupt system and links all aspects of human life with faith in Allah سبحانه وتعالى.

This is the major relevance of the appeal: "Save Indonesia with Sharia. Clean Indonesia from the Corrupt Bureaucrats!", he shouted which was responded with the marchers demanding the application of Islamic Sharia.

The marchers brandished banners and posters which, among others, read: "The scandal of Century Bank is a proof of the evil capitalistic system", "Change the Regime and the Corrupt System with Sharia and the Khilafah", "Only with Sharia and the Caliphate will Indonesia be clean and Full of Blessing."

The rally, entitled Clean Indonesia from the regime and corrupt system, began with a mass gathering around the National Monument which then marched to Hotel Indonesia roundabout. After listening to a number of speeches from the HTI central boards, the masses were dismissed at 11:00 AM.
