Australian Jewry reveals gross hypocrisy
Media Centre - Press Releases

IsraelSydney, Australia, 4th August 2010  – Various Jewish groups in Australia have reacted with ostensible concern and predictable cries to Hizb ut-Tahrir’s recent public activities in Sydney and Melbourne, accusing Hizb ut-Tahrir of inciting hatred and violence, and being anti-Israel and anti-Jewish. Such reactions as the knee-jerk use of the race and victim cards are perhaps to be expected given the precedent of these groups, yet they do betray a gross hypocrisy and an ignorance of realities the Jewish community in Australia would do well to acknowledge and appreciate. We re-affirm, and remind them, of the following:

1. Hizb ut-Tahrir is indeed anti-Israel, as are a billion of Muslims around the world. ‘Israel’ is an illegal entity built on the killing and forced expulsion of the people of Palestine. It is an illegitimate state established on injustice and oppression. There is no principled stance expect to be against it, hence, increasingly non-Muslims, including many Jews, adopt the same position.

2.Being anti-Israel does not translate to being anti-Jewish. This is no more than a convenient conflation made with intent to claim victimhood and blur realities. Islam does not discriminate between people on the basis of race, religion or ethnicity. It distinguishes between people only on the basis of piety in the eyes of God – on their deeds in the struggle of truth and justice. Hence Hizb ut-Tahrir and Muslims globally are against unjust all occupations, invasions and oppression, independent of the race of the perpetrator.

3. Accusations of violence and hatred coming from those who support ‘Israel’ have no credibility. It is ‘Israel’ that consistently uses violence to maintain a state built upon violence. It is ‘Israel’ that has oppressed the people of Palestine for over half a century. It is ‘Israel’ that continues to forcibly expel people to expand its settlements and that bulldozes homes over innocent civilians vividly displaying its hatred for others.

4.These accusations are rendered even less credible given recent international events. When ‘Israel’ used forged passports for an extra-judicial killing these groups stood in support of it. When it brazenly attacked and killed humanitarian workers on the flotilla they stood in support. When it invaded South Lebanon inflicting wanton destruction they stood in support. And now they have the audacity to cite victimhood against those bringing their crimes to the world’s attention.

5.The apparent material strength of ‘Israel’ should not deceive the Jewish community of Australia. We remind them that Israel’s strength lies not in itself but in its Western benefactors, like the US, whose economic and political decline is clear for the world to see. As the US lives on borrowed time, so too does ‘Israel’. When supporting ‘Israel’ is no longer politically expedient, its Western allies will abandon it.

6. As for the rulers in the Muslim world, they are, without exception, mere puppets of Western powers. They do not have any legitimacy with Islam or the Muslims. Do not take comfort in their having recognised ‘Israel’ or their moves to make peace with it, for these mean nothing. The Muslims worldwide do not, and will not, recognise ‘Israel’. Nor will they accept anything less than the return of all of Palestine to its rightful inhabitants.

7. Jews in Australia should think about the future, which is not for America or Britain, but for Islam and the Caliphate. In thinking about the future they should reflect on the past. They should compare the way they were treated justly by the Muslims under the Caliphate with how they were oppressed by Europe. Compare their status in Muslim Spain with their subsequent treatment during the Spanish Inquisition. Compare their status in the Ottoman Caliphate with their subsequent treatment in 20th century Europe. The Muslims took heed of the warning of the Prophet (pbuh) that, “Whoever harms a non-Muslim citizen of the Caliphate [dhimmi] shall have me as their adversary on the Day of Resurrection,” whilst Europe has always flown with the winds of political expediency. The difference in vast and is a testimony for all those who wish to take it.

Ends.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
