The protestors, led by Saad Khan, gathered near Bilal Mosque in Hayatabad. Speaking on the occasion, Saad Khan said the US commandos had killed innocent women and children but the rulers had failed to protect the sovereignty of Pakistan. Coming down hard on the country’s rulers, he said those who had returned to Pakistan with the help of Americans could not protect the people.
Saad urged the government to stop cooperation with US in its so-called “war on terror”. In Mardan, activists of Jamaat-e-Islami Mardan chapter Friday staged a protest demonstration against the United States’ attack on the border village of South Waziristan Agency that left 15 innocent people dead. The district deputy amir JI, Dr Syed Badshah, while addressing a gathering of the JI workers outside press club condemned the attack of the ground forces of the United States at Angoor Adda. In Mansehra, hundreds of people staged a protest rally against the killing of innocent people by US forces in South and North Waziristan. Following the Friday prayers, hundreds of people gathered in front of the main mosque on Abbottabad Road and marched through various roads and reached at the main chowk. Protesters, holding banners and placards, chanted anti-US slogans. Speakers from various political and religious parties including the district amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Mohammad Younas Khattak condemned the US aggression. Source: HT Britain
