This is not the first time apologists for Jewish criminality in Palestine have sought to silence criticism of the actions of the Jewish entity by playing the victim card. The Jews in Palestine are occupiers of Islamic land, who displaced entire populations and have no hesitation blowing up homes on top of their inhabitants, schools on top of their students and mosques on top of their worshippers.

It is the height of depravity to seek to delegitimise the real and deadly concerns of the victims of Jewish barbarity in Palestine by portraying their opposition to Jewish occupation as opposition to Jews themselves. The criticisms directed towards Hizb ut-Tahrir are the in fact the same criticisms directed to all Muslims who principally oppose the criminality of Jewish occupation in Palestine.

The comments in question were made at the time of the most recent offensive against the people of Gaza, an offensive that indiscriminately razed homes, schools, hospitals and mosques, killing thousands of men, women and children in the process. Any words expressed at that time must necessarily be viewed in the context of this aggression, and any references to Jews in this context must necessarily be viewed as reference to Jewish occupation. Jews themselves proudly refer to the Jewish entity as a Jewish state, so it is disingenuous to later cry foul when others use the exact same descriptor.

It is well known to all that Jews have always historically turned to Muslims in times of their most desperate need. Jews have only flourished under Islam; indeed their golden age was realised only under Islam. To attempt to reconstruct history by portraying Muslims as anti-Semitic is not only disingenuous but criminal.

The irony is this criticism is now emanating from Vic Alhadeff, a man who was comprehensively rejected by the Muslim community and subsequently disgracefully discharged from his duties at the Community Relations Commission for his partisan support of Jewish brutality in Gaza. It appears he is now unashamedly seeking to extract his vengeance upon the Muslim community by falsely exploiting the words of Hizb ut-Tahrir.

Muslims, as principled people, will shine the spotlight on Jewish atrocities in Palestine as long as they tragically occur, and will not hesitate to do so in a public conversation.
